A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash that closed a main road in Nottinghamshire on Thursday, December 14.
Police were called to Mansfield Road in Underwood at about 6.20am to reports of a crash involving a van and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to hospital.
Sergeant Mark Baker, of the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident has left a man with serious injuries and we are working to understand what happened.
“The road has been closed in both directions, between Junction 27 of the M1 and Alfreton Road with diversions in place.
"The closure is expected to remain in place until at least 2pm today. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
“I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 80 of 14 December 2023.”
