Former Ashfield community centre may be demolished for new homes
Garages would also be torn down to make way for the properties
A former village community centre could be demolished and homes put in its place, according to new plans for the site.
Garages around Huthwaite Mill House Centre, in Mill Close, would also be torn down under the proposal submitted to Ashfield District Council, with two semi-detached homes built.
The proposals have been put forward by Andrew Kirkland and the construction firm Lindum would be behind the creation of the development.
The firm, headquartered in Lincolnshire, states no work, construction traffic or deliveries would take place apart from within working hours. These have been set as 8am-6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
The plans show the homes would be two storeys and would include solar panels on the roof. They would include three bedrooms on the top floor along with a living room, toilet and kitchen/diner on the ground level.
A decision is due to be made on the plans by January 31, 2024. You can view the proposals and have your say here.
